About the Artist

Many children love to draw, and I was no different. I sketched cats at six, horses at twelve, and portraits in my teens. My formal relationship with art began in high school, where I majored in art but never had the chance to learn watercolor or colored pencil. Those mediums found me later, at a time when I needed gentleness and courage. After my double mastectomy, I turned to watercolor without training—reaching, stretching, and rebuilding strength one small movement at a time. Painting became part of my healing, a way to breathe color and hope back into my new normal.

In 2025, I discovered colored pencil through classes at Lune Spark in Apex, NC, and it quickly became a source of joy and exploration. I’m learning, experimenting, and shaping a style that reflects my love of nature, light, and the treasured objects that brighten my home. My work blends imagination with lived experience, offering moments of connection through color and story. If one of these pieces speaks to you, I’m grateful.
